Do you have a compensation claim?

If you served one day in the military, you may be eligible to make a claim.

Given the complexity of the legislation and various factors involved, the best approach is to have a no-obligation conversation with one of our senior intake officers, all of whom are former ADF members. They can provide you with an overview of your options, helping you decide on the best course of action moving forward.

DVA Claims

At Advocates Online, we ensure veteran claims are submitted to the DVA within 48 hours of completing your intake, signing your agreement, and providing the necessary documentation. Your personal and sensitive information is securely stored using a double-encrypted online system.

We request a full set of your Australian Defence Force records, including medical, dental, personnel, conduct, psychological, trade, and long service records. You can access these at any time at no additional cost.

 Why Accuracy Matters

The DVA claims process can be lengthy, with claims often taking years to be allocated. Getting your claim right from the start is critical. Each injury or illness must be submitted correctly under the appropriate legislation, as this directly impacts your entitlements and outcome.

With highly qualified case consultants, advocates, and veteran-friendly medical specialists, we help streamline the process, ensuring your claim is accurate, comprehensive, and well-supported.

Beyond Claims – Holistic Support

Once you become a client, we take a whole-person approach, considering family, rehabilitation, and welfare needs to ensure you receive the right support. This may include:

✔ Rehabilitation consultants & medical teams

✔ Welfare support & local agencies

✔ University and tertiary qualified coaches to help you navigate life post-ADF

We are committed to empowering veterans through entitlements, networks, and knowledge, helping you build a stronger future beyond service.

Advocates

Our claims consultants (Advocates) are highly skilled and intuitive, with a deep understanding of military service and the progression of injuries and illnesses. They work under the guidance of a senior Advocate, who has submitted over 2,000 claims and brings more than 13 years of experience. Our team is supported by a network of primary and tertiary healthcare providers, who assist in gathering evidence for claims and help guide our Advocates in delivering the best possible support to clients.

Claims can be submitted to the DVA while still serving or after transitioning from full-time service. Given the time it takes to secure liability acceptance and determine Permanent Impairment, we encourage members to submit their claims as early as possible.

Case Consultants (ARetro / Med Discharge / Ombudsman)

Our case consultants are veterans with high-level writing and research skills, backed by legal training or medical qualifications. They are supervised by our Volunteer Board Member, who has over 22 years of experience in ADF Personnel Policy, a deep understanding of the governing legislation, and experience in writing high-level papers. Our Volunteer Board Member at Advocates Online has submitted over 200 ARETRO requests for medical discharge, with more than 98% of the claims being successful.

If you have completed more than four years of ADF service, it is likely that you have sustained injuries or illnesses as a result of your service (as stated in the DVA project examining injury prevalence). It is important to lodge these claims with the DVA as soon as possible to avoid lengthy wait times and the potential for discharge without liability acceptance or permanent impairment consideration.

If you have injuries or illnesses that may result in being invalidity pensioned from the ADF, or if you wish to discuss a more structured approach to your discharge, Advocates Online can assist with a seamless transition from the ADF. We will provide support in approaching your workplace, communicating with medical specialists, and completing paperwork. Additionally, we will work with you post-transition to ensure that the next chapter of your life is as fulfilling, if not more, than the previous one.

We collaborate with highly qualified, veteran-savvy medical practices that offer telehealth services. These practices work to develop a treatment history and build a relationship with veterans to ensure comprehensive reports for DVA and CSC. They also work closely with veterans and their families to help them reach a state of wellness and enjoyment.
